Bright new look, great new merchandise in Museum gift shop
Just in time for the holiday season, the Wilton Historical Society is
excited to announce its new gift shop collection. Our merchandise has been
extensively updated to appeal to the tastes of today’s members; 2/3
of the items in the shop are new.
The Museum Gift Shop is stocked with stylish and well-priced
items for the home, family and friends. There is a wonderful variety of many
unique treasures available all year long.
For example:
- Robin Sherman’s newest collectible ornament, shown on the right, is the third in a series of six. The Elias Betts House is one of Wilton Historical Society's preserved buildings.
- A variety of items unique to Wilton, including tea towels, holiday cards and ornaments,
Mohair throws from Canada – scrumptiously soft, environmentally-friendly
, as well as holiday items from Wilton’s own Christmas Barn
- Folk art, historical reproductions and home accessories
- Hostess gifts, most of them unique, some made locally, many priced under $20
- Colorful ceramics, boxes and artwork
- Playful historic silver charms
- Gifts for the cook – including stunning handmade natural linen aprons made in Weston, and
the famous “Lazy Spoon” and other handmade utensils in wild cherry and maple from Jonathan’s Spoons
- Old-time classic toys and craft kits for children of all ages
- Candles, including matched pairs from Maine in 40 different colors and three sizes (must be ordered); beeswax; and bayberry, as immortalized in the 19th century saying:
A bayberry candle, burned to the socket,
Brings health to the home
And wealth to the pocket
